A career without limits

As the nation’s flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It’s something we’ve been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world’s first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.

We know great things can happen when you’re inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit.

The role:

Production Manager

You’ll be part of the Creative Studio within our Customer directorate, leading the planning and delivery of complex productions from initial brief through to final delivery. Working closely with Studio Traffic, Creative teams and stakeholders across the business, you’ll help bring outstanding British Airways content to life while ensuring every production is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest creative, operational and brand standards.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of productions, from briefing and pre-production through to shoots, post-production and final delivery
  • Partner with Studio Traffic and Creative teams to assess briefs, shape production roadmaps and ensure production feasibility
  • Plan and oversee production logistics, including crew, talent, locations, equipment, suppliers and technical requirements
  • Manage productions within operational and safety-critical environments, minimising business disruption while ensuring safe delivery
  • Own production governance, ensuring compliance with health and safety, legal, regulatory, insurance and organisational requirements
  • Develop and approve production risk assessments, safety plans, filming permissions and operational controls for shoots
  • Manage production budgets and negotiations, selecting suppliers, agencies and freelancers and overseeing their performance
  • Partner with Creative Leads and stakeholders to develop production solutions, mitigate risks and optimise delivery
  • Ensure productions meet agreed creative, technical and brand quality standards
  • Ensure appropriate usage terms, licensing agreements, copyrights and clearances are in place
  • Lead post-production reviews and drive continuous improvement across production practices and supplier performance
  • Lead and develop the Production Executive and manage the colleague casting programme

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • Strong ability to present and articulate clear creative direction and production proposals
  • Confidence challenging and qualifying feedback while keeping delivery focused on the brief
  • Strong network and relationship-building capability across content producers, agencies, suppliers and creative partners
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate information and analysis into actionable customer insights and recommendations
  • Ability to manage dependencies across multiple productions while maintaining sight of the bigger picture
  • Strong resource-management capability, balancing short and long-term requirements
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to adapt your influencing approach
  • Strong commercial acumen and sound judgement when balancing customer, creative and commercial priorities
  • Experience driving change and improving ways of working
  • Strong agency management skills with the ability to establish effective partnerships and shared goals
  • Highly organised, creative and dynamic approach
  • Ability to multitask and adapt quickly when plans change
  • Engaging working style and strong advocacy for the British Airways brand

Your experience:

  • Experience managing complex creative productions across the end-to-end production lifecycle
  • Experience using portfolio and project management, planning and briefing tools such as Asana
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Leadership experience managing teams, agencies and suppliers
  • Experience managing production budgets, suppliers and commercial negotiations
  • Experience delivering productions within operational or safety-critical environments
  • Marketing qualification
