Pride matters at British Airways

This Pride Month, colleagues across British Airways came together to celebrate, connect and support one another through a range of events and activities led by Flying Proud, our LGBTQ+ colleague network.

From Pride celebrations and colleague events to education, fundraising and community initiatives, Flying Proud helps create opportunities for colleagues and allies to get involved throughout the year.

While Pride is an important moment in the calendar, it's also an opportunity to reflect on the power of community, visibility and support in the workplace.

Meet Flying Proud

Flying Proud is a colleague-led network that supports LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies across British Airways.

What Pride means to me

"For me, Pride is about belonging. It's knowing that you can bring your whole self to work, be proud of who you are, and feel accepted for exactly that. It's also about celebrating the diversity of experiences within our community and creating spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported."

Flying beyond

While Pride Month is an important moment in the calendar, Flying Proud's work extends throughout the year.

Whether someone identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community or as an ally, Flying Proud provides opportunities to connect with others, celebrate diversity and get involved.

"We go beyond the bigger events you see in the public eye. We run lots of different initiatives, from educational activities to social events, fundraising for LGBTQIA+ charities, or even just lending an ear to a colleague in need of a friend."
