Our awards

We are incredibly proud to have achieved outstanding recognition for our Graduate, Apprenticeship and School programmes.

Institute of Physics

British Airways’ Aircraft Maintenance Apprenticeship nurtures the commercial aircraft engineers of tomorrow. Since 2010 we’ve welcomed over 300 apprentices on to the scheme, with all applicants who completed the programme with the required qualifications being retained as aircraft mechanics. We were honoured with the 2023 IOP Apprenticeship Employer Award for our market-leading apprenticeship.

National Graduate Recruitment Awards

We picked up two prizes at the 2024 National Graduate Recruitment Awards, winning first place for the Most Popular Graduate Recruiter in Transport and Logistics and coming second for the Most Popular Graduate Recruiter in Engineering. Voted for by students, these wins reflect our commitment to recruiting and nurturing graduates across our airline.

Times Top 100 Graduate Employers

The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers is the definitive annual guide to Britain’s most sought-after graduate employers. Compiled from interviews with over 12,000 graduates, British Airways was named 83rd on the 2023-2024 list, marking our airline out as one of the UK’s leading companies for recruiting and supporting early talent.

RateMyApprentieship

British Airways flew into a fantastic eighth position in the 2023 RateMyApprenticeship Top 100 Awards. This achievement was in recognition of the fantastic experience we offer to apprentices right across our airline, from Engineering and Customer Experience through to our Head Office. Our top ten placement represents a huge rise from 75th place in 2020, and 18th place in 2021.

GTI Top 300 Graduate Employers

In 2023 we were voted 15th overall in The UK 300 – the most comprehensive annual survey of student opinion on graduate careers and employers. The result was compiled from the Cibyl Graduate Research 2023 survey, with almost 70,000 students and graduates from over 160 universities taking part.
