A career without limits

As the nation’s flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It’s something we’ve been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world’s first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.

We know great things can happen when you’re inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit.

The role: Corporate Affairs Executive

At British Airways, our Corporate Affairs team plays a vital role in shaping how we communicate with colleagues, customers, media, government stakeholders and the wider public. Sitting within our Customer directorate, this team helps protect and enhance one of the world's most recognised airline brands, ensuring our people are informed, engaged and connected to the business strategy.

As a Corporate Affairs Executive, you'll be at the heart of how we tell our story. Working across colleague communications, media relations, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, events and reputation management, you'll support the team to deliver compelling communications that build trust, drive engagement and support the priorities of the airline.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a real impact across a global organisation!

What you'll do

  • Support the planning and delivery of colleague roadshows, forums, town halls, media events, press conferences, showcases and corporate events.
  • Develop an understanding of colleague, media and social media audiences to ensure communications are targeted, relevant and engaging.
  • Create and publish content across internal communication channels and the media centre, ensuring compliance with governance standards, brand values and communication guidelines.
  • Maintain and update the Corporate Affairs communications planner.
  • Support the tracking and evaluation of communication and engagement activity, helping identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Generate fresh ideas for engaging content and identify opportunities to amplify relevant stories and user-generated content.
  • Monitor internal and external channels to stay informed of emerging stories, news and engagement opportunities.
  • Support crisis communications and reputation management activity when required, including being part of the on-call rotas.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support the wider Corporate Affairs function.

What you'll bring to British Airways

You bring excellent written and verbal communication skills and are confident adapting your style to engage different audiences. Your experience will be evident through your ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling and impactful stories that support business priorities. You are naturally curious, creative and always looking for new ways to engage people through effective communication.

You'll thrive in a fast-moving environment, exercising sound judgement and balancing multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy. You are a collaborative relationship builder who works effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and colleagues. You have a positive, growth-oriented mindset, with a willingness to learn, embrace change and remain calm and resilient when working to demanding deadlines or navigating sensitive situations.

You are highly organised, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of your workload, using initiative to solve problems and deliver results. Above all, you care about creating meaningful communications that strengthen engagement, build trust and protect the reputation of British Airways.

Your experience

  • Experience developing and delivering communication plans aligned to business objectives.
  • Demonstrable experience creating high-quality written communications and engaging content.
  • Experience building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven ability to identify, develop and share stories that support organisational priorities and strategy.
  • Some experience measuring the effectiveness of communications activity and using insights to improve future outcomes.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint and Teams, alongside digital communication platforms such as Viva Engage

What we offer:

We believe that all the people who work with us should feel valued for the part they play. It’s one of the reasons our rewards go far beyond a competitive salary.

From the day you join us, you’ll get access to brilliant staff travel benefits including unlimited basic and premium standby tickets on British Airways flights. You’ll also receive up to 30 discounted ‘Hotline’ airfares per year for yourself, friends, and family.

At British Airways you’ll have the chance to take on new challenges and move forward in a way that feels right for you. We encourage all those who work for us to consider opportunities right across our business to help you develop and progress.
