The role:
Deputy Safety and Security Manager - 12 Month Fixed Term
Salary: £50,000 to £60,000
This role strengthens Euroflyer’s ability to operate safely, securely and responsibly by developing and maintaining effective Safety Management and Security Management Systems. It turns operational data, reports and investigations into clear insight and action, while providing trusted safety and security leadership and deputising for the Safety and Security Manager when required.
This role is a 12 month maternity cover opportunity.
What you’ll do:
- Maintain and continuously improve the Safety Management System (SMS) and Security Management System (SeMS) across all operational risk areas.
- Provide data-driven safety, security and flight-data insight to support informed decision-making and risk management.
- Ensure safety and security reports are investigated effectively, with clear findings, actions and organisational learning.
- Lead complex investigations and present evidence-based outcomes through the appropriate governance forums.
- Maintain effective oversight and continuous improvement of the Flight Data Monitoring programme.
- Coordinate and develop the Fatigue Risk Management process to identify and mitigate fatigue-related risks.
- Provide expert guidance and challenge to ensure risks are understood, assessed and effectively controlled.
- Support risk-based security assurance activities, audits and inspections across the integrated management system.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with regulators, industry partners and key stakeholders.
- Day to day management of the Safety and Security team
- Deputise for the Safety and Security Manager and lead safety, security or business improvement projects as required.
What you’ll bring to BA Euroflyer:

Your experience:
- Relevant safety investigation qualification or practical experience leading or supporting investigations in Safety/Security-critical environment.
- Relevant professional or technical qualification, such as a related degree, HNC, ATPL(A), aircraft maintenance license or analytical discipline.
- Proven airline experience in Safety or Security Systems in one of the following areas – Flight Operations / Ground Operations / Engineering
- Practical experience developing, delivering and communicating safety management and risk assessments.
- Proven ability to identify significant safety or security issues and translate evidence into proportionate strategies, recommendations and action.
- Experience improving processes and using data and trends to drive measurable improvement.
- Ability to build credible working relationships with regulators, industry bodies, senior leaders and operational stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to produce concise governance papers and explain complex risk clearly.
- Strong planning, prioritisation and time-management skills, with accuracy and attention to detail under pressure.
