The Role: Solution Architect
Join the forward-thinking Architecture & Engineering team at British Airways as a Solution Architect. Embedded within delivery squads, you'll design, describe, and manage innovative solutions to complex business challenges, playing a pivotal role in bridging business problems and technology-driven solutions.
What You’ll Do:
- Drive innovative solution designs aligned with British Airways' strategic vision.
- Advocate for best-in-class solutions with minimal customisation, ensuring seamless integration of world-class applications.
- Translate business capabilities into functional and non-functional design, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture.
- Communicate and negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders to balance usability and architectural fit.
- Provide expert reviews of functional specifications and manage deviations with confidence and clarity.
- Foster collaboration with product teams to ensure robust system testing, auditing, and benefits realisation.
- Build strategic supplier relationships, evaluating and approving third-party deliverables.
- Champion adherence to architectural principles, resolving or escalating non-compliance where necessary.
- Contribute to technical roadmaps, ensuring lifecycle alignment from inception to retirement.

Your Experience:
- In-depth experience with digital product teams and Agile methodologies, particularly SAFe Agile.
- A track record of successful architectural design across business, data, applications, and technology domains.
- Expertise in cloud architecture, hybrid solutions, and service-level agreement management.
- Practical experience in incremental value delivery and operating across diverse environments.
- Fluency in English, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
