A career without limits

As the nation’s flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It’s something we’ve been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world’s first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.

We know great things can happen when you’re inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit.

The Role: Slot Planning Executive

Join our Network & Alliances team at British Airways as a Slot Planning Executive – a key role at the heart of schedule development and global slot strategy. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the world’s most valuable airline slot portfolio, ensuring our schedule supports both commercial growth and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maximise the value of the British Airways London and global slot portfolio by enhancing schedule quality and identifying opportunities to acquire new slots.
  • Manage changes to the slot portfolio in line with international regulations and internal policy, ensuring compliance and commercial benefit.
  • Lead analysis and planning to ensure infrastructure assumptions are realistic, risks are mitigated, and capacity is optimised.
  • Represent British Airways in strategic forums and industry meetings concerning global slots and airport infrastructure.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to optimise global airport infrastructure usage and enhance the strategic slot position, navigating complex constraints such as noise and night restrictions.
  • Shape our slot acquisition and retention strategy, contributing to broader business planning.
  • Collaborate across IAG to deliver benefits for the wider group and feed into key system and tool improvements.

What You’ll Bring to British Airways:

  • A strategic and analytical mindset with strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Confidence in managing ambiguity, balancing multiple priorities under pressure, and presenting evidence-led recommendations.
  • A collaborative approach, comfortable working across teams and functions to deliver results.
  • A positive, adaptable attitude with a passion for solving complex planning challenges.

Your Experience:

  • Preference for knowledge of slot management systems, data sources, and clearance processes (e.g. Sabre Slot Manager)
  • Proven analytical capabilities and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • In-depth understanding of end-to-end schedule planning, infrastructure clearance, and the broader BA planning and fleet landscape.
  • Experience working with global airport, air traffic, and slot coordination stakeholders.
